It all started for me with a few books that were just about martial arts (or so I thought).
I went through many transformational writings, but the two that stick out the most in my memory are “How to Maximize Your Martial Arts Performance in Minimum Time” by Dr. John La Tourrette & “Path Notes of an American Ninja Master” by Dr. Glenn Morris
These books were both very interesting from a martial point of view, but more importantly, they covered much more than martial arts…
I tracked down some of the information in the bibliographies, and this started an ever expanding quest for learning and growth that still rages on today!
I have been studying meditation, breath-work, mysticism, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, brainwave entrainment, and self-hypnosis for over 10 years, and martial arts for over 15 years.
Recently I have started integrating Chi Kung energy work (specifically the Radiant Circuits), heart coherence, and EFT into what I do… it has been incredibly powerful!
As I’ve studied, I’ve noticed that most people don’t really care (or aren’t willing to take the time) to find and appreciate high quality instruction. When you become ready to insist that you get these skills, you will have reached a turning point in your life.
We are constantly being told by the self-help industry to create specific (S.M.A.R.T.) goals… and we are constantly being sold the ever updating, yet still vague, ‘American Dream’ by advertisers of all sorts. I have learned from experience that there is value in specificity, but there is also value in generality… and it is important to know how to
Use what is useful, when and where it is useful!
For quite some time, I have offered principles, techniques, strategies, and just general advice to those who have expressed interest. Recently, with the help of my good friend Tamo, I have started to come up with structured methods of integrating these principles and teaching them quickly and efficiently.
As always, I encourage you to keep going, keep playing, and keep smiling!
